MILLENIUM EDITION

Corinthian produced a very special set of XL figures to mark the arrival of the new Millenium, with all 10 players being legends of the game.

 

 

The figures were released on a subscription basis initially, with 2 figures being released each month.

 

 

The pairings were:

• July 31st 1999 - The Masters - Pele & Eusebio

• August 31st 1999 - The Lion Hearts - Bobby Moore & Gordon Banks

• September 30th 1999 - The Thinkers - Michel Platini & Franz Beckenbauer

• October 31st 1999 - The Powerful - Ferenc Puskas & Diego Maradona

• November 30th 1999 - The Magicians - George Best & Johan Cruff

The XL figures are 15cm high and were released in a gift box which came with an individually numbered certificate of authenticity, with each one being assigned a collector code starting with XL

The set has always proved popular and obtaining a full set is achievable but picking up some can be tricky, especially if you want them in original packaging.
