SERIES 3
ENGLAND LEGENDS
For Corinthian ProStars Series 3 we took a trip into the past, as we saw ProStars Series 3 England Legends released, which features 12 England national kit figures from across the decades, with the release date being Early September 1999.

The standout figure from this release is undoubtedly Bobby Moore, in the England 1966 away kit, holding the Jules Rimet trophy aloft, celebrating the famous World Cup win! This figure was always going to be an instant collector's item, indeed it proved to be the best seller in the series and is still al sought after figure.
Kevin Keegan is sculpted with his iconic perm hair style, this was another of the best sellers in the series, as was the all new sculpt of Bryan Robson, who surprised Corinthian by being the 3rd best seller in the series and a shock sell out, possibly this can be attributed to his affiliation to Manchester United and collectors wanting to add this figure to their United collections.
Gary Lineker was an much requested figure and my personal favourite from this series, an exceptional sculpt and the first time the poacher was released by Corinthian. Paul Gascoigne was re sculpted and this new sculpt is a spot on likeness as it really captures the character and energy of Gazza.
Gordon Banks, Geoff Hurst and Bobby Charlton were all first released in the England 1966 team pack, however Charlton and Hurst appear here in Home kit for the first time. Alan Shearer gets his first England release in the ProStars range, the same sculpt would also feature in the England 1999-2000 team pack.
Completing the range are 3 first time sculpts, they are Stanley Matthews, Nat Lofthouse and Tom Finney, with the only other release of the 3 figures being as part of the Club Gold range. Something to mention is the error on the collector cards, the Finney card has the figure image of Lofthouse, and the Lofthouse card has the figure image of Finney.
Corinthian were not sure how an entirely legends based series would be received by collectors, so they aired on the side if caution and produced half the volume they had done for Series 1 & 2 and did not make and sachet product either. Sales of the series were not quite what Corinthian had expected but Moore, Keegan and Robson sold exceptionally well, with the lowest production volume being for Finney, Lofthouse, Matthews and Robson.
Corinthian produced something special called the Platinum Pack, these were produced in much lower numbers and not available for direct sale, they were given away free for money spent with Corinthian Direct, however you could also buy them from official Corinthian Collector Centres. The figures are identical to those in the standard blister but are placed on a specially designed blister card.
