Corinthian would take their last retrospective look at the season and release ProStars Series 36 Stars Of The Season 2006/07, with the series boasting an impressive 7 first time sculpts!

The 2006/07 Premier League was won by Manchester United and Corinthian picked 2 of their top players to release in this series. We have the very first ProStars release of Nemanja Vidic, an excellent sculpt with just 2,875 blisters being made, a strong seller and his blister would become scarce in years to come. Louis Saha gets his second appearance in a regular ProStars Series, first being included in Series 25, this new blister had 2,335 made.

Chelsea had to settle for second place, included here is the first series release of Michael Essien, with3,235 blisters, with him first appearing in the 2006 Convention series for Ghana. Didier Drogba is the highest volume blister in this series with 3,295 which was around the same volume as his debut figure in Series 29.

 

 

Gilberto Silva gets his first release in a regular series, after making his debut in the Arsenal Club Series which was released in February, this home kit figure had 2,703 blisters made. For Liverpool we have my favourite in the series, Dirk Kuyt. This would be the only release of the versatile Dutch man, with Corinthian making just 2,883 blisters, making it a real collector's piece and a rare blister to find, with his away kit redemption sachet also being scarce and in demand.

 

 

The following 3 figures were all first and only time releases, we have Gabriel Agbonlahor for Aston Villa with just 1,258 blisters, Andrew Johnson for Everton with 1,315 blisters and a man who burst onto the scene, Micah Richards for Manchester City with only 1,254 blisters being made of the future pundit.

 

 

Our series 36 journey concludes in Italy, we have 3 top stars from Serie A, as Francesco Totti gets another release for Roma, with just 1,708 blisters made this can be an elusive blister to locate. Dejan Stankovic is in Inter Milan home kit, the first release of this sculpt and would be included in the Inter Milan Serie A Champions 06/07 team pack in away kit, with Corinthian making just 1,887 blisters.

 

 

ProStars Series 36 Stars Of The Season 2006/7 is completed by another piece of Corinthian history as we have the first and only ProStars figure to be released from Palermo! Brazilian striker Amauri was on top form, netting 8 times in 18 goals until a knee injury suffered in December kept him out for the rest of the season. Amauri was the lowest produced blister in this series with just 1,167 blisters being made. 

 

 

In total Corinthian made 25,915 blisters for ProStars Series 36 Stars Of The Season 2006/7 , which was the lowest since Corinthian started publicising production volumes. The average blister production for this series was 2,159.

 

 

Corinthian produced 2 special redemption figures for ProStars Series 36 Stars Of The Season 2006/7, which are Didier Drogba for Chelsea and Dirk Kuyt for Liverpool, both in their respective club away kits. Collectors were able to directly purchase the redemption figures, which were priced at £5 and came in clear sachet with a non numbered collector card. 

 

 

ProStars Series 36 Stars Of The Season 2006/7 was released in July 2007, with blisters priced at £3 each and Corinthian also made the series available in a case assortment, which contained all 12 blisters and 1 platinum pack, with the case assortment costing £36.

 

 

Along with the regular blister packs, Corinthian produced something special called the Platinum Pack, these were produced in much lower numbers and not available for direct sale, they were given away free for money spent with Corinthian Direct. The figures are identical to those in the standard blister but are on a Silver base and assigned a PP (Platinum Pack) collector code, which was the same code as the PRO version, with the figure then placed on a specially designed Platinum Pack blister card, coming with an individually numbered collector card with just 360 of each being produced.
