SERIES 27
SUPER STRIKERS
ProStars Series 27 Super Strikers was a 16 figure strong release, with each players being a striker and was Corinthians first series release of 2005.

There were many great strikers plying their trade in the English Premier League during the 2004/05 season, so we start our journey at Arsenal and the first time release of a very promising young talent, Jose Antonio Reyes, with Corinthian making 5,882 blisters.
Staying in London we go to local rivals Tottenham Hotspur and a fresh sculpt of Jermain Defoe, the first release of him since Series 18, an this much improved sculpt had 2,635 blisters produced. Our London journey stops off at Chelsea where we have first time sculpt Mateja Kezman, who struggled to make the impact Blues fans had hoped, with 5,874 blisters made.
The final stop in London is Fulham where we have Tomasz Radzinski released in home kit, the sculpt being the same as seen in Series 23, with 2,454 blisters released which was the lowest in this series.
The excellent sculpt of Djibril Cisse was released for the first time, in Liverpool home kit, with 4,263 blisters made. For Manchester United we have a new sculpt of Alan Smith, who we last saw back in Series 15, however this was a much improved sculpt with 4,975 blisters.
Mark Viduka is released for Middlesbrough, the sculpt being the same as used in Series 12, with 2,635 blisters made. Jonathan Stead gets his only Corinthian figure with there being just 2,455 blisters made of the youngster.
We have 2 new sculpts from the Scottish Premier League as we see Georgian Shota Arverlade for Rangers with 3,024 blisters and 3,174 blisters of Henri Camara for Celtic, neither figure would be released again by Corinthian.

Italy's Serie A has a rich history of top level goal scorers and we have 6 of the best included in this series and what better way to start than with my personal favourite from this series in first time sculpt of Obafemi Martins for Inter Milan, which had 6,057 blisters made.
AC Milan have Hernan Crespo in their home kit, with 5,877 blisters made of the figure last seen released in Series 17. Gianfranco gets his first release since series 14 and in doing so made history as being the first and only ProStars figure released for Cagliari, with 4,977 blisters made.
We have 2 excellent first time sculpts as we see Alberto Gilardino in Parma home kit, with 6,957 blisters and history is also made as we get the only figure Corinthian ever released for Siena, as we finally get prolific goal scorer Enrico Chiesa released, with 5,157 blisters produced.
Completing the line up is a fresh sculpt of Alessandro Del Piero, here in his beloved Juventus
home kit, with Corinthian making 8,217 blisters, which was the most of any figure in this series.
In total Corinthian made 74,613 blisters for Series 27 Super Strikers, which was slightly up on Series 26 Midfield Maestros, with an average blister production of 4,663 per figure.
Corinthian produced 2 special redemption figures for Series 27 Super Strikers, which are Jose Antonio Reyes for Arsenal and Gianfranco Zola for Cagliari, both in their respective club away kits. Collectors were able to directly purchase the redemption figures, which were priced at £5 and came in clear sachet with a non numbered collector card, however from this series onwards Corinthian no longer produced redemption tokens, the only 2 ways to obtain the redemption figures was by buying them from Corinthian direct for £5 each or as part of the Series Case Assortment.
Series 27 Super Strikers was released on the 7th February 2005 with blisters priced at £3 each and Corinthian also made the series available in a case assortment, which contained all 16 blisters plus the 2 redemption sachets and 1 platinum pack.
Along with the regular blister packs, Corinthian produced something special called the Platinum Pack, these were produced in much lower numbers and not available for direct sale, they were given away free for money spent with Corinthian Direct. The figures are identical to those in the standard blister but are on a Silver base and assigned a PP (Platinum Pack) collector code, which was the same code as the PRO version, with the figure then placed on a specially designed Platinum Pack blister card, coming with an individually numbered collector card with just 360 of each being produced.
