BARCLAYS PREMIERSHIP CHAMPIONS 06/07 TEAM PACK

Manchester United had a truly formidable and world class squad for the 2006/07 season, so it was no surprise to see Sir Alex Ferguson lead the Red Devils to yet another league title, finishing the season on 89 points, 6 ahead of Chelsea in 2nd place and a staggering 21 points ahead of bitter rivals Liverpool in 3rd.

United had a rock solid foundation in goal keeper Edwin Van Der Sar, the sculpt being the same as used in series 32, with club captain Gary Neville being the sculpt seen in series 15. French left back Patrice Evra was technically a new sculpt, he was part of series 37 which was released on the same date as the team pack, 5th November, however the series 37 figure has him in 2007/08 kit.

Their central defensive partnership was perhaps their best in club history, with Rio Ferdinand in home kit and Nemanja Vidic in away kit, both sculpts were used previously, in series 28 demon defenders and series 36 Stars of the Season 06/07 respectively. 

United's midfield had all the components needed to be successful, Michael Carrick was in there to break up the play and distribute the ball, his figure being the same sculpt as seen in series 35, the figure is the same kit, however in series 35 he has white booth, the team pack has him with black boots.

Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs add the experience and technical ability, both being previously seen sculpts, with the trickery, skill and goal scoring prowess being provided by Cristiano Ronaldo. The Ronaldo sculpt was seen in Series 34, however that figure has white boots while the team pack version has black boots.

The fire power was provided by Louis Saha and Wayne Rooney, both in 2006/07 away kit, with Rooney finishing second highest league scorer at the club with 14, behind Ronaldo who ended the league campaign on 17 goals. Completing the pack is of course Sir Alex Ferguson, no pack could be complete without the iconic manager.

Something to mention is that Corinthian actually made an error with the Carrick figure, he was printed with 'FERDINAND 5' on the back of his shirt, to correct this Corinthian did get the correct 'CARRICK 16' figures shipped over from the factory and placed them inside the pack, behind the figure tray.

Corinthian released the Manchester United Barclays Premiership Champions 06/07 Winners Pack on the 5th of November 2007, producing just 2,007 pieces and having an initial retail price of only £35, this is a pack which has vastly appreciated in value since it's release. 

Each Manchester United Barclays Premiership Champions 06/07 Winners Pack came with 12 figures, 12 collector cards, an individually numbered certificate of authenticity and a free Platinum Pack of one of the 12 figures, with just 167 of each platinum being made, each coming with an individually numbered collector card. These Platinum Packs are highly sought after and always in demand as collectors try to complete the set of 12, with Ferguson and Ronaldo being the most coveted.
