PERU SAGA FALABELLA
Corinthian launched a new range of figures under the banner of 'ProStars Fan Favourites' which have the figures in 'photographic line up' poses.
The figures are the same size as regular ProStars however they are a 2 piece mould which have turning heads, are a little lighter than regular ProStars and on a brighter Green base with the player name printed on. The range carried it's own collector codes, starting with FF (Fan Favourites)

Corinthian were asked by a department store based in Peru called 'Saga Falabella' to produce a range of 36 ProStars Fan Favourites figures, the range covered current stars as well as legends and icons of the game.

AC Milan have 6 figures in the set, current stars Kaka, Shevchenko, Maldini and Cafu are joined by Dutch legends Van Basten and Gullit, with bitter rivals Inter Milan having 4 figures, Adriano, Vieri, Recoba and Zanetti.

Juventus had 2 current stars and 2 legends in the set, with Del Piero and Trezeguet joined by Platini and Baggio, with Napoli having 2 included in the set, Antonio Careca and Maradona! Completing the contingent from Italy's Serie A are 2 from Roma, Totti and Batistuta.

Barcelona had 6 in the set, Puyol, Giuly, Belletti, Larsson, Ronaldinho and Deco.

The English Premier League was represented by Arsenal, Aston Villa and Manchester United, with Arsenal having 4 figures, Bergkamp, Henry, Reyes and Pires, while Villa hasd just 2, both from South America, Angel and Peru international Solano. The 2 from Manchester United are Van Nistelrooy and Ronaldo.

The set was rounded off by 4 England national kit figures, those being Rooney, Beckham, Scholes and Owen.

The figures were actually available in 3 different formats. Corinthian also did it's best to ensure any product they made which was sold outside the UK was also made available to collectors in the UK, with this set being no exception. Corinthian divided the set into 12 lots of 3 figures, with the figures being in a clear sachet and coming with collector card, the collector cards were in Spanish and had nothing on the reverse of the card.

From the 1st of March 2005 collectors could order the full set of 36 figures in clear sachet format from Corinthian direct at a cost of £100, they were also given away as a free gift when making purchases over a certain order value.

The set was also released in Japan but as a blind box product, which had the figures still in clear sachet with collector card and a collectors information leaflet, but placed inside a blind box, with each CDU (counter display unit) having 15 blind boxes. There were 48 different figures in the Japan blind box release, the 36 Peru Saga Falabella figures, the other 12 were players from the club team packs.

So now we come to the initial release, the figures were actually sold in a 2 pack blister, with each 2 pack containing the 2 figures and collector cards. So there were 18 different 2 pack blisters produced all which were sold exclusively in Saga Falabella stores in Peru.

I have personally only ever seen 2 different blisters, the one detailed at the bottom of this page of Kaka and Shevchenko for AC Milan is from my own personal collection, and i have seen the Maradona and Careca blister before, the other 16 packs i have never seen and sadly have no images of them.

These 2 pack blisters have to be considered as one of the rarest if not the rarest set of blisters ever released by Corinthian in the Prostars range.
