CLUB GOLD
WORLD GREATS
UK MEMBERSHIP 2005
The Corinthian Collectors Club received a make over and a restructuring, Corinthian did away with the 3 established levels of membership (Silver, Gold & Platinum) and instead adopted a 2 tier system, SuperStars and Legends, so on the 1st of March 2005, the ProStars Collectors Club 2005 was launched.

The SuperStars membership cost just £10 and came with 4 exclusive figures which you can read about in the ProStars Retail section of this site. The other membership level was Legends and cost £55, coming with 12 exclusive figures which were all first time sculpts, with only one of the sculpts being used again by Corinthian.

Laurent Blanc had appeared in the Corinthian range before, as part of the France national kit range of Headliners, almost a decade ago, this new sculpt was a perfect replication of the player.
For many collectors the star of the set was split between Eusebio for Portugal and Higuita for Colombia. Both those figures had long been requested for by collectors, we did get a Eusebio XL figure, but this is the one and only ProStars version of such a legendary and iconic player, no surprise to know he has remained one of the most sought after figures from this series, or indeed any Corinthian series.
Higuita is of course famous for his Scorpion kick, so his eventual ProStars release was much anticipated and remains incredibly popular.

There have been many Brazilian legends over the years and it is safe to say Corinthian had released them all, however there was one glaring omission, which they addressed by releasing Jairzinho.
Chilean international Ivan Zamorano was re sculpted, having previously been released as part of ProStars Series 4, this new sculpt of Zamorano would be released again as part of the ProStars Select 500 series, in Inter Milan home kit.

The other 7 were all first time sculpts and would never again be released by Corinthian, those 7 are Emilio Butragueno for Spain, Sandor Kocsis for Hungary, Grzegoz Lato for Poland, Johan Neeskens for Holland, Hugo Sanchez for Mexico, Harald Schumacher for West Germany and Enzo Scifo for Belgium
All 12 were released in a Club Gold World Greats window box, on a Gold base and coming with collector card.
