ENGLAND 1966 TEAM PACK
The 1966 World Cup Final took place at Wembley on the 30th July, with tournament hosts England taking on bitter rivals West Germany in front of an attendance of 96,924.
Without doubt one of the most iconic football matches of all time, with England winning 4-2 after extra time, thanks to a hat trick from Geoff Hurst.
This was Corinthians first foray into producing a legends item with the pack being released on the 30th June 1999 and hitting retail stores on the 4th of July, priced at £29.99. The packs features the 11 who played the final and the unlucky Jimmy Greaves, all in the 1966 England away kit worn for the final.
Each figure was a first time sculpt, with the pack line up being Gordon Banks, Ray Wilson, George Cohen, Nobby Stiles, Bobby Charlton, Alan Ball, Jackie Charlton, Geoff Hurst, Martin Peters, Roger Hunt, Jimmy Greaves and captain Bobby Moore, sculpted holding the Jules Rimet Trophy!
All 12 would also be released in the Club Gold range, included in the Superclub Football Chelsea Edition, however apart from that re issue, Greaves, Ball, Stiles, Cohen and Wilson would never be released again by Corinthian
Corinthian listened to their loyal collectors who had stated they struggled to always acquire the figures they wanted from their local stockists, the answer to this was to create 'Corinthian By Subscription' which was a service allowing collector's to register their interest in the product and also place a pre order, to guarantee they would not miss out on the figures they wanted.
Each team pack contained the 12 figures, 12 collector cards and display stand, with each pack also coming with a randomly packed platinum blister pack of one of the 12 figures.
