WORLD GREATS SET O

In February 2004 Corinthian launched the 2004 version of the Corinthian Collectors Club, with the membership packages containing exclusive product which was not available in any retail store, and it was not possible to purchase the World Greats from Corinthian direct either, they were only available as part of the membership package.

As was the case with the membership packages in the previous 3 years, there were 3 different levels of membership which were Silver, Gold and Platinum, with different figures available in each level of membership.

There are 4 Club Gold World Greats figures which were included in the Gold membership and made up Set O, all of which were first time sculpts. The Gold level membership also contained Set N, however I have decided to keep all sets on their own page.

Salvatore Schillaci got his first Corinthian release, painted in the Italy home kit, the only other release of Schillaci would be in Juventus home kit as part of the ProStars Reseller Specials series. He is joined by fellow Italian Atilio Lombardo, here in Sampdoria home kit, with Lombardo probably most known to UK collectors for his time at Crystal Palace, Lomardo would never again be released by Corinthian.

Oleg Blokhin for the USSR was another first time sculpt and like Lombardo he would never be released again. Making up the set is Michael Laudrup in Juventus home kit, the sculpt being the same as previous sculpts of Laudrup. Corinthian had a long standing issue with mixing up the Laudrup brothers, they wrongly printed him on the collector card as Brian Laudrup, also incorrectly listing him as Brian in the 2005 Yearbook, you could be tempted to let them off if it was not for the fact Brian never played for Juventus!

All 4 were released in a Club Gold World Greats window box, on a Gold base and coming with collector card.
