CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE 2007
TEAM PACK

The 2007 UEFA Champions League Final took place in Athens, Greece on the 23rd of May, and saw a rematch of the 2005 final as AC Milan took on Liverpool.

A tense first half saw Milan take the lead on the stroke of half time, as an Andrea Pirlo free kick deflected of the shoulder of Filippo Inzaghi to wrong foot the despairing Pepe Reina, meaning Milan led at the break 1-0.

The second half was well contested, Milan content to sit in and try hit on the break as Liverpool pushed for an equaliser. A wonderful pass from Kaka set Inzaghi through on goal and the Italian nonchalantly evade Reina to slide the ball into an empty net and put Milan 2 up.

 

 

With full time approaching a Jermain Pennant corner was flicked on by Danny Agger and nodded home by Dirk Kuyt, however it would prove to be a mere consolation goal, as Milan held on to win 2-1 and claim their 7th European Cup trophy.

 

 

The pack contains the starting 11 from the final in the 2006/07 away kit, along with Alberto Gilardino who was one of the used substitutes during the game. Brazilian goal keeper Dida once again appears in an AC Milan team pack, joined by  the other members of the back line Massimo Oddo, Alessandro Nesta, club captain Paolo Maldini and Marek Jankulovski, who was a first time sculpt. Jankulovski would later appear in series 38 in AC Milan 2007/08 home kit.

 

 

Corinthian produced all new sculpts of Gennaro Gattuso and Clarence Seedorf, truly excellent sculpts of 2 legends of the game, with the Seedorf sculpt later appearing in Series 40, however this Gattuso sculpt would never be released by Corinthian again.

Andre Pirlo was an existing sculpt, as is play maker Kaka and scorer of both final goals Filippo Inzaghi, while we did get another brand new sculpt in Massimo Ambrosini, with this being the only figure Corinthian ever released of Ambrosini, it is a must for any AC Milan collection and always in demand.

 

 

Corinthian released the AC Milan Champions Of Europe 2007 Celebration Pack on the 5th of November 2007, producing just 2,007 pieces and having an initial retail price of £45.

​

 

Each AC Milan Champions Of Europe 2007 Celebration Pack came with 12 figures, 12 collector cards, an individually numbered certificate of authenticity and a free Platinum Pack of one of the 12 figures, with just 167 of each platinum being made, each coming with an individually numbered collector card. These Platinum Packs are highly sought after and always in demand as collectors try to complete the set of 12.
